Just a stones throw away from the Montrose District is a quaint and welcoming little coffee and dining spot called Doshi House. Located in Third Ward, Doshi House might be missed if your not paying attention. What looks like an abandoned building houses a very chill spot off the beaten path.

The vibe in there is relaxing and inviting. A mixture of Ambient Chill, Middle Eastern Trance and an eclectic mix of Soul music soothes anyone coming in for a bite to eat or meet others for coffee or tea. Even though there are clear signs of leaking ceilings Doshi House is in the process of renovating and expanding. Owner Deepak Doshi opened up the small cafe over six year ago to help expand his involvement into the community and is now growing the cafe to include a second story balcony.

Besides the chill music, ambient feel and artwork on the walls, is the food. Affordable and tasty. Whether you get a Tofu Masala Empanada with a Strawberry and Banana smoothie or if you’re there for their rotating menu each night, you can eat the “Vegan Not So “Butter Chicken”” on a Saturday or their Vegan Three Bean Chili on Wed., you will not want to miss. Maybe on your way out you can grab a coffee which is locally owned and operated by Greenway Coffee and a vegan chocolate chip cookie from Sinfull Bakery.

Missing Texas Chiropractor and Strange Incidences of Holistic Practitioners

medicalsymbolUPDATE May 22, 2017: Dr. Towery’s vehicle was found Sunday May 7th and the only lead police have offered is that he was possibly last seen talking with someone on the rural road his truck was found

Ok….this article is just going out on a limb in look into various dealings of doctors, who have been turning up missing or dead over the past two years. This is brought on by a local story of a chiropractor who’s been missing now for over three weeks, who I hope is found well and safe. More about Dr. Towery can be found below.

I’ve heard throughout the years about different medical professions, who deal with “alternative” healing, in one shape or form, turning up dead or missings, but not until a story happened close to home did I become interested in delving into this further. Now, in no way am I connecting the missing of Dr. Towery to the 60+ other deaths and missing reports out of respect for all involved, this is just to bring awareness to both issues, one…a missing person! Period. Continue reading “Missing Texas Chiropractor and Strange Incidences of Holistic Practitioners”

During the early hours of January 1st, around 2:30 am, a tragic fatal roadside accident ensued near the Sam Houston Parkway feeder at West View resulting in the loss of the life of a caring pregnant mother, but a miraculous second chance for the life of her newborn child.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury, the mother was rushed in critical condition to the nearest emergency hospital.

Doctors performed an emergency surgery on the injured mother, but unfortunately, against all of their best efforts, this wasn’t enough. The mother of two would succumb to her injuries only a few hours after the accident.

The Art of Letting Go by Dixie Clark

Each of our lives has its own unique rhythm. There is an ebb and flow, and a time for stillness that continues to repeat itself throughout our lifetime. The art of letting go is about honoring this rhythm. It’s about knowing when to hold in stillness, and when to move forward, even if the way isn’t clear. Letting go is really about opening to receive. It is living in this moment, honoring who you are. It is a process of trust.

The Benefits of Antioxidant-Rich Tea by Jason Lincoln Jeffers

Thomas Edison once said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” In the early 20th century, Dr. Otto H. Warburg proved that all forms of cancer have two basic conditions: high acidity and oxygen deficiency. He believed that the root cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency because he discovered that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of oxygen, as found in an alkaline state.
